College Scholarship Fund Search

Persistent scholarship searches pay. Ideally, a college bound student will begin search during the second semester of the SOPHOMORE year ( 10th grade). Waiting until the senior year diminishes dollar total results. The total number of applications to many different organizations impacts final dollar amounts.

The general rule is : apply often, apply over a long period of time, and apply if in doubt. If a committee or organization does not have an application, then it cannot evaluate what it does not have. If applicants merely apply within a state, out-of-state scholarships and grants go unused.

  • Scholarships are awarded by local organizations; apply to every local scholarship.

  • Individual state colleges, universities, and private colleges award a variety of scholarships. That institution's admission counselor has specific, unique requirement  information.

  • In addition to Pell Grants, other educational grants are available. These private grants change, making a focused search necessary.
